The Training Environment

Why train in a private field rather than public spaces?

A private field allows controlled, low-pressure learning without unexpected triggers. This is especially valuable for reactive or anxious dogs and enables progress at a pace that suits the individual dog.

When do you train in real-world environments?

Once foundational skills and emotional resilience are in place, training is gradually generalised to real-world settings in a planned, safe way.

Can my dog run freely during sessions?

Dogs may have off-lead freedom during sessions if they have a reliable recall and it is appropriate for their safety and training goals. Where recall is still developing, long lines are used to allow dogs space to move, explore, and practise skills safely without the risks associated with full off-lead exercise.

This ensures dogs can enjoy freedom of movement while remaining safe and supported at all times.

Is the training field secure?

The field is large, private, and away from public access, which allows for calm, low-pressure training. It is not fully enclosed, so appropriate safety measures are always used. This may include long lines, distance management, and careful planning based on your dog’s behaviour, recall, and individual needs.

Your dog’s safety is always prioritised, and sessions are structured to ensure the environment remains appropriate and controlled.
